Deja vu.

London, 2012.
Montreal, 1976.

I thought those beautiful lines looked familiar.

Gooooo, Russkies! Komova!!! Mustafina!!!

Sorry, Team USA--it's not because I'm a Romanov freak, or the Russian national anthem makes me want to whip out my The Hunt for Red October DVD. I just prefer gymnasts with power AND grace. Komova's floor routine during the all-around made me sigh.

Even the dancers agree she rocked.

Omigosh I was hooked on the Olympics! I was grabbing Amit's arm with my clammy hands, breaking out in a cold sweat, and munching on popcorn to fulfill my nervous eating, haha!

And sigh, Komova's lines... so beautiful and yes, SO NADIA!!! And Mustafina's ballet-ish moves on the floor exercise are second to none. When she dances, she OWNS that floor!

I have to say though, I did like Aly Raisman, and she was the one I was cheering on the most - at least in Team USA - maybe because there was less hype about her coming in to the London games. And she seems to have a good head on her shoulders.

PS - I also wonder how much ballet training other gymnasts get compared to Russian gymnasts - who get a lot of classical ballet training probably since their toddler years!

Sure, Maroney did an amazing Amanar at team finals, but Komova and Mustafina were so great to watch in any apparatus. Sigh.

Hahaha! I have this mental picture of you kapit-to-death sa braso ni Amit, sabay subo ng popcorn!

I was so nervous, too! And to think I was watching downloads, hahaha! And I came into it knowing nothing about today's gymnasts, so nagulat ako na I got so emotionally invested ;)

Here's a great article I ran into about the AAs, may insider view:

Enjoy!

Did you watch the synchronized swimming din? Aliw na naman ang mga Russo!

Hugs!
