I See England, I See France...

I smelled France in my kitchen this morning.

I'm not kidding. Maybe it was the combination of rain, brewing coffee, and the cold. (Well, relative cold. I'm sure folks in Mississauga, Canada, would disagree.) Whatever it was, I suddenly saw--no, I suddenly was--standing outside this house, shivering my ass off.

That was four years ago. It feels like yesterday, and ages ago. And to remember is both lovely and annoying.
