I spent the eve of my birthday shooting interviews for a video. Because budget was tight we were a skeleton crew--and I mean seriously skeleton-y because I had to hold the boom microphone during interviews.
Depending on the camera angle, you can hold the boom microphone above the humans, or below them.

(Boom mic below the humans.)
After around 14 interviews my arms were shaking. When I woke up this morning my biceps felt like crap and it hurt like hell to shampoo my hair. And to think I was only doing the below-the-humans position!
When I think of the hour-long group interviews I used to shoot for TV shows before it makes me feel terribly guilty and love all the soundmen I've encountered even more.
Some of our interviews were MOS-style--as in grab a potential interviewee walking around the mall and Ayala Triangle. Every rejection was disheartening.
So today I took every fricking flyer that was offered to me by sales folk. Yes, karma is a bitch.

You are one of my writing idols! Love that last bit about taking every flyer!
Hahaha! Thanks, Johnny! But I'm sorry, I draw the line with stuff na you have to sign/give your email address/etc!
I often take the real estate flyers because I like looking at things I can't afford haha.
But I feel for you, Kamelle! (And I know super late na nito).
